How To Make Salvia Tea
1.) To make
Salvia tea
use approximately 1oz. of Salvia divinorum leaf per each ounce of water. You will need a lot of leaves in order to obtain a substantial amount of Salvinorin A. Using tea bags is recommended so you don't have to strain the leaves out later.
2.) Boil the water and leaves together for 2-3 mintues, stirring often to loosen as much Salvinorin A from the leaves as possible.
3.) Remove from heat source and allow leaves to steep in the water for at least 5 minutes.
4.) Strain the leaves out of the water.
5.) Sweeten to desired taste as the tea is naturally bitter. Honey, sugar, or milk will make your tea delicious.
Salvia Tea
Salvia divinorum tea can be made by brewing the leaves of the plant in water. You may use either whole leaf or ground leaves, just be sure to strain them out before drinking. This is the most modern way to use Salvia, but also the least effective, since Salvinorin A is poorly absorbed by our stomachs.
The active ingredient, Salvinorin A, is not water-soluable. It will not dissolve in or combine with water. Though it takes a lot of leaves to obtain the amount of Salvinorin A needed for noticible effects, the effects will last longer than any other method of use for this herb.
Effects from the tea will be very mild and will be similar to the euphoric feeling felt from chewing plain leaves. The effects will last from 45-90 mintues depending on how many leaves you use in the tea and the amount you drink.
